Schertz TX Welcomes New Pierce Pumper

The Schertz, Texas Fire Rescue has officially welcomed a new Pierce pumper into service. The Department celebrated with a community event on Thursday, April 19th. Members of the Schertz Fire Department, their families, and other community members came by to welcome the new truck. The new Pierce pumper is built on a custom Quantum chassis, known for its tall ride height and great visibility. It holds 1000 gallons of water and 20 gallons of foam along with the Pierce PUC 1500 GPM pump, Husky 3 foam system, and Hercules CAFS. Other features include a Cummins ISX12 500hp engine, TAK-4 independent front suspension system, all-red custom cab interior with seating for four personnel, rear booster reel, 26″ front bumper extension with full width hose tray, and much more. This unit will serve the southern portion of Schertz. Schertz is a town on the east/northeast outskirts of the San Antonio area.
